LA CLE FAQs
How do I report my CLE credits?
SproutEd Reports your attendance and credit to the Louisiana State Bar Association MCLE Committee within 30 days of course completion.
In December of each year, the MCLE Committee sends each attorney a preliminary compliance report. If the report is accurate, no further action is required. If the report is inaccurate, the attorney must submit the MCLE Committee any outstanding records of compliance. If the report is accurate, but deficient, the attorney must complete all remaining CLE requirements by December 31st.
Can I carry over extra CLE credits?
8 credits may be carried over to the next reporting period, except credits in Ethics.
What are the consequences of not completing my CLE in time?
If the attorney does not complete the CLE requirements or get an exemption, the state supreme court may deem the attorney ineligible to practice law. The attorney may apply for review of any adverse decision by the state supreme court. Read more here.
