What Are My Deadlines and Credit Requirements?
If you’re practicing law in WA, you need to complete 45 CLE credits every 3 years. At least 15 of those credits must be in Law and Legal Procedure. At least 6 of those credits must be in Ethics (1 must be in Equity, Inclusion and the Mitigation of Bias).
You have until December 31st to complete your CLEs, and until February 1st to report them.
What Types of CLE Courses Are Accepted in Washington?
All 45 credits can be from Live Webcasts or On Demand courses and can be taken on SproutEd. Only 8 credits may be earned per day.

How do I report my CLE credits?
SproutEd reports credits for Live Webcasts to the Washington Bar Association. Attorneys must self-report credits from On-Demand courses using the Washington MCLE Portal.
Attorneys certify compliance using the MCLE Portal by February 1st.
Can I carry over extra CLE credits?
15 credits may be carried into the next reporting period, including 2 in Ethics.
What are the consequences of not completing my CLE in time?
The state supreme court may suspend a lawyer who does not timely certify MCLE compliance or receive an extension.
What if I’m New to Practicing in Washington?
Newly admitted have the same CLE requirement as all attorneys.
