What Are My Deadlines and Credit Requirements?
If you’re practicing law in MT, you need to complete 15 credit hours every year. At least 2 of those credits must be in Ethics.
You have until March 31st to complete your CLEs, and until May 15th to report them.
What Types of CLE Courses Are Accepted in Montana?
10 credits must be Live Webcasts; 5 credits can be On-Demand or Live Webcasts.

How do I report my CLE credits?
SproutEd Reports your attendance and credit to the Montana CLE Commission within 30 days of each course. By April 15th, the CLE Commission sends a transcript of each attorney’s reported CLE credits from the previous reporting period. Attorneys must provide corrections to the report, if any, by May 15th.
Can I carry over extra CLE credits?
30 Live Webcast credits, including 4 in Ethics, may be carried over in to the next Reporting Period.
What are the consequences of not completing my CLE in time?
Attorneys who have not complied with CLE requirements and paid the $50.00 late fee by July 1 will be immediately suspended for non-compliance as required by the Montana Supreme Court.
What if I’m New to Practicing in Montana?
Newly admitted attorneys are subject to the same CLE requirements as all attorneys.
