AL CLE Requirements FAQs

Attorneys admitted to practice for less than one year.

Newly Admitted Attorneys are exempt for the remainder of the year in which they were admitted.

By December 31st in the year after they were admitted, attorneys must complete Alabama’s 3-hour Mandatory Professionalism Seminar. Hours earned at this seminar count toward the attorney’s general 12 hour annual CLE requirement. This seminar (Alabama’s Mandatory Professionalism Seminar) will be administered by CLE Alabama on even numbered years and Cumberland School of Law on odd numbered years. Upcoming dates will be posted on the Approved Course List that is found off your member profile page.

Attorneys can complete all 12 credits on SproutEd.  All of SproutEd’s courses are approved for credit in Alabama.
