Indiana MCLE Requirements Overview

Credit Requirements

  • Total Credits: 36 credit hours every 3 years
    • At least 3 hours in Ethics
    • At least 6 hours completed per year

  • Credit Format: All 36 credits can be On-Demand or Live Webinar courses

  • All Courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in Indiana

Compliance & Reporting

  • CLE Deadline: December 31st

  • Reporting Deadline: December 31st

  • Reporting Procedure: SproutEd Reports your attendance and credit to the Indian Commission for Continuing Legal Education (CCLE) within 30 days of each course

  • Compliance Procedure:  At the end of each year the CCLE will send a transcript to each Indiana attorney with the courses completed for the current year and reporting period, which must be verified by the attorney

Additional Info

  • Carryover Credit: No credits may be carried over to the next reporting period

  • All credit hours may be completed online

  • All courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in Indiana

Indiana CLE Requirements FAQs

Attorneys are newly within their first 3-year Educational Period after being admitted to the Indiana State bar by Bar Exam.

Total Credits: 36 credit hours every 3 years:

  • At least 3 hours in Ethics
  • Complete an approved 6 hour Applied Professionalism or mentoring program

Attorneys can complete all 36 credits on SproutEd. All of SproutEd’s courses are approved for credit in Indiana.
