Mississippi MCLE Requirements Overview

Credit Requirements

  • Total Credits: 12 credit hours per year
    • At least 1 hour in Ethics

  • Credit Format: 6 credits can be from Live Webinar or On-Demand courses, 6 credits must be from Live In-Person courses

  • All Courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in Mississippi

Compliance & Reporting

  • CLE Deadline: July 31st

  • Reporting Deadline: August 15th

  • Reporting and Compliance Procedure: SproutEd Reports your attendance to the Mississippi Commission on CLE. Attorneys report their credits on their CLE Annual Report mailed to them by the Mississippi Commission on CLE.

Additional Info

  • Carryover Credit: 12 credits may be carried over to the next reporting period, but Ethics credits may only be carried over as General credits

  • 6 credit hours may be completed online

  • All courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in Mississippi

Mississippi CLE Requirements FAQs

Attorneys are newly admitted during the reporting cycle in which they were admitted and the following reporting cycle.

Newly admitted attorneys must complete an approved New Lawyer Program consisting of 12 hours of CLE courses including 6 CLE hours in Basic Skills Training and 6 CLE hours in Ethics/Professionalism.

The new Lawyer program must be completed July 31st in the second year following admission.  Attorneys report completion on the CLE Annual Report mailed out by the Mississippi Commission on CLE.

Attorneys can complete 6 annual credits on SproutEd. All of SproutEd’s courses are approved for credit in Mississippi.
