Credit Requirements

  • Total Credits: Total Credits: 45 credit hours ever 3 years
    • At least 3 hours in Ethics

  • Credit Format: 45 credits can be from Live Webcasts, 30 of those credits can be from On Demand courses

  • All Courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in North Dakota

Compliance & Reporting

  • CLE Deadline: June 30th

  • Reporting Deadline: July 31st

  • Reporting and Compliance Procedure: Attorneys file a Report of Compliance with the North Dakota Commission for Continuing Education by July 31st after their 3-year reporting period ends

Additional Info

  • Carryover Credit: 15 credits may be carried over into the next reporting period, excluding Ethics

  • All 45 credit hours may be completed online with SproutEd

  • All courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in North Dakota

North Dakota CLE Requirements FAQs

North Dakota does not have a newly admitted attorney distinction for CLE purposes.

Newly admitted attorneys are subject to the same CLE requirement as all attorneys.

Attorneys can complete 45 credits on SproutEd. All of SproutEd’s courses are approved for credit in North Dakota.
