Oregon CLE Requirements for Attorneys

Everything you need to know about the Oregon CLE rules and requirements.

Oregon MCLE Requirements Overview

Total Credits: 45 credit hours every 3 years
- At least 5 hours in Ethics
- At least 1 hour in Child and Elder Abuse Reporting
- At least 3 hours in Access to Justice (every other reporting period)
- At least 1 hour in Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Credit Format: All 45 credits can be from Live Webcasts or On Demand courses and can be taken on SproutEd
All Courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in Oregon

CLE Deadline: April 30th
Reporting Deadline: May 31st
Reporting Procedure: SproutEd reports your attendance and credit to the State Bar of Oregon within 30 days of completion
Compliance Procedure: Attorneys must certify and submit their MCLE transcript by logging into their Member Dashboard on the State Bar of Oregon website by May 31st

Carryover Credit: 15 credits may be carried over into the next reporting period, including 6 in Ethic. Child and Elder Abuse Reporting and Access to Justice credit may only be carried over as General credit.
All courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in Oregon
All 45 credits can be completed online with SproutEd

Attorneys within their first reporting period.

Total Credits: 15 credit hours:

At least 2 hours in Ethics (1 of which must in Oregon Ethics and Professionalism)
At least 9 hours in Practical Skills (4 of which must be specific to Oregon practice and procedure)
At least 1 hour in Substance Abuse and Mental Health
A 3-credit Oregon State Bar approved introductory course in Access to Justice

Attorneys can complete all 45 credits online with SproutEd. All of SproutEd’s courses are approved for credit in Oregon.
