Oregon MCLE Requirements Overview
Credit Requirements
- Total Credits: 45 credit hours every 3 years
- At least 5 hours in Ethics
- At least 1 hour in Child and Elder Abuse Reporting
- At least 3 hours in Access to Justice (every other reporting period)
- At least 1 hour in Substance Abuse and Mental Health
- Credit Format: All 45 credits can be from Live Webcasts or On Demand courses and can be taken on SproutEd
- All Courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in Oregon
Compliance & Reporting
- CLE Deadline: April 30th
- Reporting Deadline: May 31st
- Reporting Procedure: SproutEd reports your attendance and credit to the State Bar of Oregon within 30 days of completion
- Compliance Procedure: Attorneys must certify and submit their MCLE transcript by logging into their Member Dashboard on the State Bar of Oregon website by May 31st
Additional Info
- Carryover Credit: 15 credits may be carried over into the next reporting period, including 6 in Ethic. Child and Elder Abuse Reporting and Access to Justice credit may only be carried over as General credit.
- All courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in Oregon
- All 45 credits can be completed online with SproutEd

Attorneys within their first reporting period.
Total Credits: 15 credit hours:
- At least 2 hours in Ethics (1 of which must in Oregon Ethics and Professionalism)
- At least 9 hours in Practical Skills (4 of which must be specific to Oregon practice and procedure)
- At least 1 hour in Substance Abuse and Mental Health
- A 3-credit Oregon State Bar approved introductory course in Access to Justice
Attorneys can complete all 45 credits online with SproutEd. All of SproutEd’s courses are approved for credit in Oregon.
