Christine Matus and Kristine Carranceja-Gurski bring expert guidance on safeguarding futures for individuals with special needs. This course equips attorneys with the tools to craft effective plans using Special Needs Trusts, guardianships, and conservatorships—ensuring clients’ loved ones are cared for while maintaining vital benefits.
Christine Matus was admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey and to the U.S. District Court of New Jersey in 1995. She graduated from Douglass College, Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1992.
Ms. Matus serves in the Attorney Arbitration Committee (2021-present), Board of Director (Past President) of 21 Plus, Board of Director of MOCEANS, Inc., Board of Trustee Secretary of Ocean County Bar Association. She also has served as a Board of Director to the American Cancer Society, Ocean County Chapter, 1998.
Christine Matus is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and a Board of Trustee of the Ocean County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association where she serves on its Advisory Panel.
Kristine Carranceja-Gurski was admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey in 2007 and the Bar of the State of New York in 2008. She graduated from St. John’s University in Queens, New York with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics in 1996 and a minor in Philosophy.
After college, Ms. Carranceja-Gurski worked for various brokerage firms, providing her with a strong background in financial services and retirement planning. In 2004, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer and attended Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law, where she graduated in 2007.
Ms. Carranceja-Gurski is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Ocean County Bar Association, and the Monmouth Bar Association. She was instrumental in the formation of the Ocean County Bar Association’s Pro Bono Committee and served as its first Chair.
