Meet Heather

Partner

 

Heather is a commercial litigator and co-managing partner of Cozen O’Connor’s Minneapolis office. She also serves as vice-chair of the firm’s Customs, Imports and Trade Remedies practice.

Her practice spans complex business disputes, contracts and partnerships, real estate and leasing matters, bankruptcy litigation, employment law, and customs and international trade. She represents domestic and international clients on importation, distribution, trade barriers, regulatory compliance, and trade remedies, including matters before U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Department of Commerce, the International Trade Administration, and federal courts.

Heather has extensive experience handling litigation from initial pleadings through discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal. She has also represented debtors and creditors in bankruptcy adversary proceedings and workouts.

Her professional recognition includes Minnesota Lawyer Magazine’s 2023 “Top Women in Law” and The American Lawyer’s inaugural Midwest Trailblazer list in 2021.

Kristi is a transactional attorney at Cozen O’Connor who advises clients on general business matters, supply chain management, and tariff, customs, and trade issues. She frequently serves as outside general counsel, providing practical guidance on commercial contracts, corporate governance, employment matters, intellectual property, and real estate transactions.

Kristi has extensive experience drafting and negotiating manufacturing, supply, and distribution agreements across a range of industries. She also counsels clients on import compliance, including tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, marking requirements, Customs audits, protests, and responses to government inquiries.

Her practice emphasizes proactive planning and risk management. Kristi works with clients to develop internal controls, compliance programs, and contractual frameworks designed to support business objectives, reduce potential disputes, and minimize unexpected duties and other import-related costs.
