Arizona MCLE Requirements Overview

Credit Requirements

  • Total Credits: 15 credit hours per year
    • At least 3 hours in Ethics

  • Credit Format: all 15 credits may be taken as Live Webinar or On Demand

  • All Courses on SproutEd are approved for Credit in Arizona

  • The State Bar of Arizona does not approve or accredit CLE activities for the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education requirement

Compliance & Reporting

  • CLE Deadline: June 30th

  • Reporting Deadline: September 15th 

  • Reporting Procedure:  Attorneys report their CLE attendance and complete an online affidavit by logging into their member portal on the Arizona Bar website

Additional Info

  • Carryover Credit: 15 credits may be carried over into the next reporting period, including 3 in Ethics

  • All credit hours may be completed online

  • All courses on SproutEd are approved for credit

AZ CLE Requirements FAQs

Attorneys first admitted during the current educational year.

Newly admitted attorneys must take a mandatory Arizona State Bar professionalism course within the first year of admission.  Registration for the course can be found at the State Bar Association website

Attorneys admitted between July and December have a reduced CLE requirement of 10 credit hours.  Attorneys admitted between January and June have no CLE requirement for that year.

Attorneys can complete all 15 credits on SproutEd.  All of SproutEd’s courses qualify for credit in Arizona.
