Credit Requirements

  • Total Credits: 45 credit hours, every three years
    • At least 5 Credits in Ethics or Professionalism
    • At least 2 Credits in Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity

  • Credit Format: All 45 credits may be On-Demand or Live Webinars

  • All Courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in Colorado

Compliance & Reporting

  • CLE Deadline: December 31st

  • Reporting Deadline: January 31st

  • Reporting Procedure: Attorneys certify and submit notice of attendance by logging into their member portal on the Colorado Supreme Court website

Additional Info

  • Carryover Credit:  No credits may be carried over to the next reporting period

  • All credit hours may be completed online

  • All courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in Colorado

Colorado CLE Requirements FAQs

Attorneys who are in their first compliance period.  The compliance period begins on the date of admission to the Colorado Bar and ends on December 31st of the third full year following the year of admission. 

Newly admitted attorneys are subject to the same CLE requirements as all other attorneys in Colorado.

The Practicing Professionalism course taken by attorneys prior to admission satisfies 7 General Credit Hours for attorneys admitted by the bar exam.  Attorney’s admitted by motion or UBE Score Transfer will receive 7 General credits including 5 Professional Responsibility credits.

Attorneys can complete all 45 credits on SproutEd. All of SproutEd’s courses are approved for credit in Colorado.
