Montana MCLE Requirements Overview
Credit Requirements
- Total Credits: 15 credit hours per year
- At least 2 hours in Ethics
- At least 2 hours in Ethics
- Credit Format: 10 credits must be Live Webcasts; 5 credits can be On-Demand or Live Webcasts
- All Courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in Montana
Compliance & Reporting
- CLE Deadline: March 31st
- Reporting Deadline: May 15th
- Reporting Procedure: SproutEd Reports your attendance and credit to the Montana CLE Commission within 30 days of each course
- Compliance Procedure: By April 15th, the CLE Commission sends a transcript of each attorney’s reported CLE credits from the previous reporting period. Attorneys must provide corrections to the report, if any, by May 15th.
Additional Info
- Carryover Credit: 30 Live Webcast credits, including 4 in Ethics, may be carried over in to the next Reporting Period
- 5 credit hours may be completed online
- All courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in Montana

Montana does not identify newly admitted attorneys for CLE purposes.
Newly admitted attorneys are subject to the same CLE requirements as all attorneys.
Attorneys can complete 5 credits on SproutEd. All of SproutEd’s courses are approved for credit in Montana.
