Credit Requirements

  • Total Credits: 30 credit hours every 2 years
    • At least 3 credits in Ethics (must be Live Webcast)

  • Credit Format: All 24 credits can be from Live Webcasts, 12 can be from On-Demand courses, all on SproutEd

  • All Courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in Wisconsin

Compliance & Reporting

  • CLE Deadline: December 31st

  • Reporting Deadline: February 1st

  • Reporting and Compliance Procedure:  Attorneys report credits using their Board of Bar Examiners Account. Reporting Deadline: February 1st 

Additional Info

  • Carryover Credit: 15 credits may be carried into the next reporting period, excluding Ethics

  • All courses on SproutEd are approved for credit in Wisconsin

  • All courses can be taken online with SproutEd

Wisconsin CLE Requirements FAQs

Attorneys within their first year of admission to the bar.

Newly admitted attorneys are exempt from the CLE requirement within their first year of admission.

Attorneys can complete all 30 credits online with SproutEd.
