What Are My Deadlines and Credit Requirements?
If you’re practicing law in VT, you need to complete 12 credit hours every year. At least 1 of those credits must be in Ethics.
You have until July 31st to complete your CLEs, and until August 15th to report them.

How do I report my CLE credits?
SproutEd Reports your attendance to the Mississippi Commission on CLE. Attorneys report their credits on their CLE Annual Report mailed to them by the Mississippi Commission on CLE.
Can I carry over extra CLE credits?
12 credits may be carried over to the next reporting period, but Ethics credits may only be carried over as General credits.
What are the consequences of not completing my CLE in time?
As soon as practicable after August 15 of each year, the Commission will compile a list of attorneys who have not complied with the CLE requirement. The Commission will serve by certified mail, each noncompliant attorney with an Order to Show Cause, within sixty (60) days, why the attorney’s license should not be suspended. The attorney must furnish the Commission with an affidavit indicating that the attorney has complied with the requirement prior to the expiration of the sixty (60) days or set forth a valid excuse for failure to comply with the requirements because of illness or other good cause.
At the expiration of sixty (60) days from the date of the Order to Show Cause, the Commission will notify the Supreme Court of Mississippi of each attorney who fails to file a satisfactory affidavit and recommend appropriate sanctions to the Supreme Court, which may include, among others, that the attorney’s license to practice law be suspended. What are the requirements for newly admitted attorneys in Mississippi?
Newly admitted attorneys must complete an approved New Lawyer Program consisting of 12 hours of CLE courses including 6 CLE hours in Basic Skills Training and 6 CLE hours in Ethics/Professionalism.
The new Lawyer program must be completed July 31st in the second year following admission. Attorneys report completion on the CLE Annual Report mailed out by the Mississippi Commission on CLE.
