How many CLE hours are required every reporting cycle in Indiana?

Indiana attorneys must complete 36 CLE credit hours every three years. That includes a per-year minimum of 6 hours and at least 3 hours of ethics.

Cycle & Reporting

  • Educational period: 3 years
  • Completion deadline: December 31 of the final year
  • Reporting deadline: December 31 (of the same final year)

  • Non-Legal Subject (NLS) credit cap: 12 hours per 3-year period

New Admittee / Applied Professionalism Requirement

  • Newly admitted attorneys must complete a 6-hour approved Applied Professionalism course during their first three-year cycle, in lieu of part of the ethics requirement
  • The Applied Professionalism course must be completed between January 1 after admission and December 31 of the third year in the period
