New Members: Free 1 credit course with code FREECLE

What happens if I miss the CLE deadline in Nevada?

If you miss Nevada’s CLE deadline, you will incur late fees and risk suspension if compliance is not achieved by March 1. Nevada attorneys must complete 13 credit hours annually (10 general, 2 ethics, and 1 substance abuse/mental health) by December 31 and report completion on time.

Nevada CLE Deadlines & Grace Period

  • December 31: Deadline to complete all required CLE hours.
  • January 1 – March 1: Attorneys may still cure deficiencies during this grace period by completing hours and paying a late compliance fee.

Consequences of Noncompliance

  • Failure to cure by March 1 results in your name being forwarded to the Supreme Court for automatic suspension under Rule 212.
  • Reinstatement requires completing all deficient hours, paying late fees, and filing for reinstatement approval.

Key Takeaway: In Nevada, missing the CLE deadline creates a short grace period until March 1 to pay late fees and complete credits. Failure to cure by then results in automatic suspension until reinstatement requirements are satisfied.
